Rezension
Dass man James Holden in keine (Stil-)Schublade stecken kann ist bekannt. Sowohl in seinen DJ-Sets als auch in seinen Produktionen experimentiert er ausgiebig an den Grenzen der elektronischen Musik. Bei der fünften Ausgabe der australischen Mix-CD Reihe Balance ist er allerdings erstaunlich trancig und angenehm chillig geblieben. ‚Schwebe- und Wegbeam-Sound‘ – könnte man es bezeichen. Selbstverständlich sind wieder Tracks von seinem Border Community Label dabei, z.B. "Outhouse" von Nathan Fake – ein Highlight auf der ersten CD. Weitere Höhepunkte kommen von Jase from outa space, PQM und Petter, sowie Epsilon 9 und Gill Norris auf der zweiten CD. Insgesamt eine sehr empfehlenswerte trancige Progressive CD!
